Jesus is usually understood as ‘Jesus the Teacher’, who taught ‘with authority’ (Mark 1: 27). In this lecture David will be reflecting on the implications of the thesis that Mark was the first biographer of Jesus, and asking if that implies that Mark also wanted to present Jesus as the model disciple and hence the model learner, as well as the Teacher.
