The Resources Centre is on an exciting journey as it continues to find effective and innovative ways to support religious learning and spiritual development to be well resourced, informed and inclusive. Trustee David Priestley has been appointed as interim director to lead the centre through a period of further development.
David lives in Durham city and is a member of a local church. He has 40 years of experience in maintained secondary schools. He has led RE departments before moving into senior leadership roles in schools as both a Headteacher and Executive Headteacher in the Northeast. For many years he contributed to the PGCE programme at Durham University, lecturing on the importance of RE in the curriculum as well as personally preparing many student teachers for the RE classroom. During his career he has been involved in a number of collaborative partnerships, either as a trustee or advisory board member to promote the opportunities for young people and their families to be the best versions of themselves.
He is committed to mentoring young people to support them to be the best versions of themselves and to thrive as part of Josephine Butler College and Durham University. David is excited to be working with our expert team to explore how we continue to be impactful in the current environment, and how the resources we hold and commission can help schools and churches to offer extraordinary opportunities for individuals and groups to realise their full potential.
