Struggling to support your local school with assemblies/ Collective Worship?
Looking for advice, support, resources?
OPEN THE BOOK might be your answer!
Come to a FREE event to find out more on Tuesday 12 January 2016 at Church House.
Busy? We have three sessions you can choose from: 10:30 – 12:30 or 14:00 – 16:00 or 19:00 – 21:00.
Supported by Scripture Union, the Religious Resources Centre and the Diocese of Newcastle, this event will introduce you to Open the Book – a Bible story-telling project which has been designed for churches to offer to their local primary schools. It helps you provide 10 minute presentations which can be used in assemblies or incorporated into a wider act of Collective Worship. Suitable for multi-faith contexts, it fulfils both OFSTED and Church School inspection requirements.
Bring your friends: Open the Book works best in teams of at least 4 so we encourage you to invite at least one or two potential team members to join you at the Introductory Session. All are welcome and working across churches/denominations is encouraged.
Following the introductory sessions we will offer a full day of training on Wednesday 20 April 2016.
Booking: Places at the Introductory Sessions need to be reserved so please contact Judith Sadler at Church House on 0191 270 4100 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
