<p>Britain is a complex country with a huge and diverse mix of religious, social, ethnic, economic (and many other categories!) backgrounds…</p>
<p>Add to that the demands of society (as outlined and promoted by the media) that people try to conform: to look ‘good’, to look ‘normal’, to be ‘beautiful’ and we can find that being ourselves in the public space a very hard thing indeed.</p>
<p>Here is one amazing response from a strong and committed young Sikh woman who was ridiculed by strangers for having facial hair and for wearing a turban. </p>
<p>Her written response to the taunting is short and powerful. It speaks for itself and for her faith in a God that values all people equally… this could be in interesting talking point for students on a number of levels…</p>
