The aim of this unit is to challenge the children to think about themselves, their values and behaviour within the safety of a story.
Programme of Study to include:
A wide range of secular, religious and multi-cultural stories that contain a clear message to the reader that will develop self knowledge, values and behaviour
Discussing how a story through characters or events can have an impact upon our thinking and behaviour
Key Vocabulary: The values and issues raised e.g. honesty, trust, forgiveness, jealousy and choices etc
Key Experiences:
Circle time
Community of Enquiry
Key Questions
These questions should be linked with the feelings, reactions and choices of the characters in the stories.
