The aim of this unit is to give children an opportunity to reflect upon the miracles of nature and new life during springtime. To make links between the transformation of plants and animals and the Easter Story in order to develop an understanding of the resurrection.
Programme of Study to include: The story of the events of Palm Sunday through to Good Friday and Easter
A close look at the reawakening of nature at springtime, the miracle of new growth, life cycles and the pattern of decay and new life.
Key Vocabulary: Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Jesus, new life, Holy Week, disciples, resurrection
Key Experiences; To create an Easter Garden, to hear again, discuss and retell the events of the Easter Story and to study the life cycle of a butterfly
