The aim of this unit is to give children an opportunity to consider life as a journey and what it means to make that journey as a Christian.
Programme of Study to include:
Discussion about journeys and the introduction of the idea of life being a journey
Map out their own journey so far, highlighting special events, people and rites of passage.
The journey of a Christian
Looking at the impact of faith on believer’s lives
The ‘Holy Land’ and pilgrimage
Key Vocabulary: Journey, pilgrimage, rites of passage and Holy Land
Key Experiences:
Discussing ‘journey’
Creating a map of the children’s journey so far
‘Mapping’ the journey of a Christian highlights rites of passage
