    The aim of this unit is to explore the Story of David and his strengths and qualities. To read the Psalms and use them to discover more about the nature of God

    Programme of Study to include:
    David anointed as King 1 Sam:16, David and Goliath 1 Sam:17, David and Jonathan 1 Sam: 18-20, David persecuted by Saul 1 Sam:18-20, David spares Saul’s life 1 Sam:24, David King of Israel, 2 Sam:5,
    1 Kings:2.
    Discuss important values including friendship.
    Reading the Psalms and using the words and images to explore the nature of God.

    Key Vocabulary: Samuel, David, Jonathan, Saul, Goliath and Psalm

    Key Experiences:
    To discuss important values
    To read the stories of David and consider the qualities of kingship and friendship
    Creating images to illustrate the Psalms

    Key Questions
    What values do you consider to be important?
    Who inspires you?
    What are the qualities of a good King?
    What is God like?
